Gov Bala flags-off 115km rural road projects in Misau Community, others

Not fewer than 115 kilometers rural road construction projects have been launched by Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State across three Senatorial Districts.
Flagging-off the 18.8km Akuyam – Gwaram- Hardawa rural road construction project in Hardawa town of Misau local government area yesterday, Governor Mohammed said the project when executed, would have significant positive impact on the lives of the benefitting communities.
The Governor added that the roads would improve access to Market, enhancing healthcare, social interaction, education and of course economic growth and development of the communities.
Bala informed that the rural road project awarded to Habib Engineering limited is aimed at improving rural access and enhancing agricultural marketing in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and food security as well as the World Bank.
The Governor who reiterated the commitment of his administration to rural transformation, Governor Mohammed, pledged to ensure prompt and timely payment of counterpart funds for the successful implementation of the projects.
He applauded the construction firm for its excellent previous jobs in the state, urging that the execution of the flagged off projects be carried out according to the contract specifications.
The Governor also encouraged the community members to support the project in their own interest and for the development of the area.
Speaking earlier, the State Commissioner of Rural Development and Special Duties, Honourable Faruq Mustapha, noted that the ministry has identified over 4,000 rural roads for construction under the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP).
Hon. Faruq who commended the Governor’s commitment to urban and rural development, disclosed that Bauchi State has been ranked one of the best implementing states among the 19 states where the RAAMP project is being implemented.
On his part, the National Coordinator of RAAMP Project, Engineer Aminu Bodinga Mohammed, praised the Governor for his commitment to rural transformation.
Engr Bodinga while stating that the Governor has ensured prompt payment of counter funds, assured that the benefitting communities would experience new and better life that includes enhancing, improving their total way of life that will boost, create job opportunities, economic wellbeing, upon completion of the projects.
