Gov Bala’s visits to global business hubs will improve wellbeing of Bauchi people – Comrade Gidado

The recent visits to some international business hubs by Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state has been described as a holistic move towards improving the economic base of the state and the general wellbeing of Bauchi people.
The Special Adviser (SA) to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Comrade Muktar Gidado stated this in a press statement yesterday.
He said his principal’s visits to some global business hubs in less than a month has led to signing of two Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with the aimed of fast tracking the economy of Bauchi state.
“The first MoU was signed by the Bauchi State Government (Nigeria) and the Government of Shandong Province (China) on a mutual co-operation, economic friendship and Inter Country Business Exchange as well as Value Addition on Critical Sectors of the Economy”, Comrade Gidado stated.
He pointed out that the second MoU was between the Bauchi State Government and Minsheng Group LMT on a strategic co-operation framework agreement on China/Nigeria. For Bauchi State.
According to the SA, the ultimate aim of the agreements is to promote trade and investment, build industrial capacity, boost green energy, improve food security and fight poverty.
The media Aide who recalled that Shandong was mentioned as the third largest economy in China in 2019, has a diversified agricultural and industrial economy with specialization in logistics, electronics and ICT, agro-food, automotive, chemical and ship-building and marine technology, hence it is fit for partnership with Bauchi state.
“Obviously, such an economy fits the partnership profile that the Bala Mohammed Administration would cultivate to harness the state’s nascent ICT, agro-allied, chemical and automotive value chains”, Gidado posited.
He said that Governor who was accompanied by some key members of his administration and private sector entrepreneurs from the state, also attended first, the World Cities Forum and Regional Leaders Summit in Jinan, capital of the Shandong Province of China.
Comrade Gidado added that the Governor also attended the 8th world Investment Forum in Abu Dhabi, UAE, all for him to look for areas of strategic Investments and Partnerships.
He further recalled: “Lest we forget, since 1976, Bauchi has been home to Steyr Nigeria Limited, the automotive company reputed for manufacturing heavy duty road haulage and farm equipment such as tractors, trucks and buses”.
He said, should the Bauchi-Shandong sister city agreement lead to a revival of Steyr Nigeria Limited, a once solid agric and logistics machinery manufacturer, the state no doubt, improve the living condition of the citizens tremendously.
He quoted the governor as saying, “Nigeria and China had shared a relationship of mutual respect with Nigeria being China’s third largest trading partner in Africa and China being Nigeria’s largest source of imports”.
Adding that, “the renewed commitment towards improving the bilateral cooperation between the two countries has most recently been bolstered with major sectors witnessing development driven by strategy and investment”
“It is this new ferment that Bala Mohammed wants to leverage for the Benefit of the people of Bauchi State”, the SA media said.
