Market Supervisor, Katagum local Government, Hussaini Wakili has commended the performance of Caretaker Committee Chairman of the local government, Musa Azare within few months of assumption of office.
Also known as Sarkin Kasuwa of Katagum local government, Hussaini said as business people, they have witnessed tremendous progress in their dealings since Honourable Musa Azare came on board as the Local government caretaker Committee Chairman.
Speaking to our Corresspondent in an interview yesterday, Hussaini Wakili said a lot of progress has now been recorded compared to the past when market men and women found themselves in a difficult situation.
“We really appreciate God that we are doing well now. We were in a difficult situation when Musa Azare came on board but he assisted us”, the market supervisor said.
Hussaini Wakili also appreciated Governor Bala Mohammed of the state for appointing Musa Azare as caretaker Committee Chairman of Katagum local government area who he described as a very hardworking son of the soil.
According to him, on assumption of office, Musa Azare proved his worth by ensuring that work on drainages and road within the market commenced in earnest which has now made the market accommodating for businesses.
“The market was in terrible condition and many business people were running away from the market but when Musa Azare came in as caretaker Committee Chairman, he looked into it and he started work on it, it was terrible such that people have to fold up their trousers before moving around the market during rainy season, even during dry season, a lot of potholes and gallops were posing serious challenges to the market”, he added.
“I can proudly tell you that in Katagum local government area, apart from Tasi’u Mohammed, we have never had a working Chairman like Musa Azare, may God bless him and bless the administration of Bala Mohammed”, Hussaini stated.
“Honestly speaking, before now, we don’t have accessible road to the Azare Market but now he has constructed it, we pray that His Excellency the Governor will come in and assist him by making sure that the road is tarred”, said.
The market supervisor while further appreciating the effort of the LG chairman in constructing the road, pleaded with his administration to look into the issue of security of the market, saying many business people in the market have left due to lack of security guards.
“Although, now we have brought some Mai guards but they are complaining of lack of better salary and are requesting for upward review, they have spent one month in the job and we have seen their importance, they are protecting our shops very well. We plead with the LG chairman to also assist us with more security lights in the market”, Hussaini added.
