LISAI Urges Adoption of Safety Practices to survive Digital Security Threats

Nigerians have been urged to adopt practices that can minimize risks and enhance resilience against potential cyber threats.
The Executive Director of Life Spring Africa Initiative (LISAI), Abdulrahman Salisu stated this at a one-day training workshop on Enhancing the Digital Security Capabilities of his organization and Stakeholders on Thursday.
“As custodians of vital
information, we have a shared responsibility to adopt practices that minimize risks and enhance our resilience against potential cyber threats”, he said.
According to Salisu, it is imperative that proactive measures be priotized to safeguard the digital landscape.
He said: “In today’s interconnected world, digital security has become an indispensable aspect of our work as development practitioners”.
The Executive Director stressed that, with the increasing reliance on digital tools and online platforms for Communication, data management, and service delivery, ensuring the safety and security of digital assets is no longer optional but a necessity.
He explained that the training is not just about protecting data or systems; it is about safeguarding the trust and integrity that define relationships with our communities, partners, and stakeholders.
He said that the participants would be learning from experts, engaging in interactive sessions, and acquiring practical tools to navigate the ever-evolving landscape of digital security.
He enjoined the participants to take the knowledge gained during the training back to their respective
organizations and implement the lessons learned as well as build a culture of security awareness within their
teams.
Also speaking in a goodwill message,
Deputy Director, National Orientation Agency (NOA) Bauchi, Adamu Umar Sarkinyara, said Cybersecurity threats pose significant risks to individuals, organizations, and nations.
“Together, we can foster a culture of cybersecurity awareness, resilience, and cooperation”, he said.
