Nigeria receives 1million doses of vaccine against mosquitoes

The Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) has acknowledged the receipt of one million doses of mosquito fever vaccines from the international vaccine administration, Gavi Vaccines.

As contained in a press statement from the office of Nigeria’s Minister of Health, Prof Muhammad Ali Pate, the arrival of the vaccines is a victory against mosquito fever vaccination.

The consignment, according to the press statement, was presented to the Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate on Thursday 17 October 2024.

Professor Pate while receiving the vaccines, described it as a huge success for the health sector in the country.

The minister pointed out that the initiative is part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, adding that the gesture will help the government’s efforts to eliminate malaria in Nigeria.
