Senator Shehu Buba Lack Audacity To Criticize Governor Bala, Says Mai Posta
The Democracy and Good Governance Forum North East has lambasted Senator Shehu Umar Buba for lacking the audacity to criticize Governor Sena Bala Mohammed.
The Chairman of the group Hon. Sulaiman Musa Mai Posta has described as unpatriotic the address of the Senator representing Bauchi South senatorial district in the national assembly, Sen Shehu Buba over the recent criticism of the president Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s over #EndBadGovernance protests speech by governor Bala Mohammed.
He said Democracy and Good Governance Forum North East, a political group that specializes in monitoring and supervising the developmental strides of political leaders in Nigeria.
It could be recalled that, Governor Bala A Mohammed during the flagged off of PDP campaign and presentation of flags to all the candidates of the party described the president’s speech as empty and that Mr president failed to address the current situation.
APC in Bauchi State through Sen Shehu Buba during its campaign flagged off and presentation of flags to its candidates criticized Governor Bala Mohammed for describing president Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s speech as empty.
“The recent speech of our Governor Bala Mohammed, where he pointed out some lapses of the Tinubu led-administration and his failure to address the genuine and real reasons that ignited the process in the first instance” , the statement added.
Mai Posta said Governor Bala Mohammed’s recent criticism was nothing but speaking truth to power which many leaders hardly say a word regarding the current predicament Nigeria is into.
The democracy and good governance forum said the Governor, a one term senator, minister and now governor, has the requisite knowledge and the technical know how on how best to address the challenges rising from his the much talk about doctrine of necessity during the late president Umar Yar’adua’s tenure all for the good of the country and not his personal interest.
“Sen Shehu Buba should note that Governor Bala Mohammed is never his mate in politics and age, or has he forgotten that the same governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed he is criticizing appointed him the caretaker committee chairman of Toro local government area?, and this explains why we said he lacks the audacity to criticize our Governor,” Mai Posta revealed.
He said people of Bauchi State and Nigerians have heard the governor and that Governor Bala Mohammed’s recent address, describing the president’s speech as empty, represents the position of many Nigerians.
“Look at the current hardship and it is as a result of APC’s bad economic policies and God has blessed us with a leader that has his people and Nigeria at heart and then the presidency and the APC as a party should listen and make amend where necessary,” Mai Posta in a statement stressed.
He said the developmental Strides of Governor Bala Mohammed in the critical sectors of the economy are everywhere for people to see and adjudged since the same APC government during former president Mohammadu Buhari awarded governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed as the best governor in rural infrastructure and just recently president Bola Ahmed Tinubu presented on the governor, an award as the best performing governor on urban renewal.
“I listened with wrapped attention the accusations by the distinguish Senator Shehu Buba who said he took the governor to the current national security adviser to the President, Mal. Nuhu Ribadu where they took to Bola Ahmed TINUBU to beg for his support and asked rhetorically” where was Tinubu in 2019? The ordinary leader of APC that was without portfolio?” He reiterated
“Distinguished Sen Shehu Buba should accept the fact that he was appointed by governor Mohammed as the caretaker committee chairman Toro local government, then how can he say they started politics together? Mai Posta asked rhetorically again.
The group lauded the various efforts put in place by the Bauchi State government to contain the protest and it was a success since the damages in the state was minimal let alone what happened in Azare, the headquarters of Katagum local government area.
“Let us remind Sen Shehu Buba that while in the Senate, he moved a motion for the implementation of the doctrine of necessity, so our Governor is not a fearless leader that always stands for me.”
The statement added that they thought president Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC leadership and Sen Shehu Buba and the likes would hit on the advice and immediately reversed the key important decision that brought us thus far since hunger and anger doesn’t differentiate.
The group said democracy as the government of the people, by the people and for the people guarantees free expression, Free speeches and assembly among others, calling on Sen Shehu Buba to go and re correct his facts as governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed stands by her.
“We call on members of the general public to disregard the criticism from Sen Shehu Buba, as as one Hausa adaged said ” idan Mai fada Wawa NE, Mai ji ba Wawa bane, as the many developmental projects of Governor Bala Mohammed speaks volume of his excellency’s achievement across the state. So people of Bauchi State are living witnesses to where and when their funds are being utilized for the rapid socioeconomic development of the state unlike the economic policies of the APC led federal government that is causing harm to the masses.
