Shehu of Borno confers traditional title of Zanna Mburshema on UMTH CMD, Prof Ahidjo

The Shehu of Borno, Alhaji (Dr.) Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai has appointed the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of Maiduguri University Teaching Hospital (UMTH), Professor Ahmed Ahidjo as Zanna Mburshema of Borno.

As contained in a letter dated 3rd July, 2023, the Borno Emir said that the appointment of Prof. Ahmed Ahidjo was in recognition of his dedication and commitment in serving humanity.

“His Royal Highness, the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji (Dr) Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai El-Kanemi CFR, FNSE has approved your appointment as Zanna Mburshema of Borno with effect from the date of this letter”, the Borno emirate council said.

Signed by the Secretary of the emirate council, Zanna Laisu Kazalma, the letter further noted that the traditional title was conferred on the medical guru due to his relentless support, loyalty and esteem regards to the Borno emirate council.

“It is hoped that you will justify the trust bestowed upon you by rededicating yourself to continue serving humanity”, the letter read in parts.
