Sirajo wins fresh APC Bauchi house of reps primary election

Following the nomination of the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate for Bauchi federal constituency, Shehu Musa as running mate to the party’s Guber candidate in the state, Ambassador Sadique Baba Abubakar, engineer Abdullahi Sirajo Jibrin has defeated his closest co-contestant to win a fresh primary election on Saturday.
Sirajo Jibrin polled 47 votes to beat Aminu Mohammed who scored 13 votes in the primary election while Salisu Lukman got no votes.
Our Corresspondent gathered the third aspirant, Kabiru Wambai earlier pulled out of the contest for Sirajo.
Announcing the results, Mr Bukar Lawan, the Returning Officer of the primary elections committee declared Sirajo as winner of the Bauchi federal constituency house of representatives primary election.
“A total of 60 delegates were accredited and cast their votes out of which Sirajo polled 47 to emerge the winner”, he said.
Lawan described the election as free and fair void of rancour.
Addressing newsmen shortly after the election, Engineer Sirajo Jibrin expressed appreciation to God for giving him the opportunity.
The winner of the fresh primary election also thanked the delegates, as well as the party leadership and supporters for giving him all the support.
“This victory is for people of Bauchi especially the youth, because it is the youth project,” Sirajo said.
He urged party loyalists, youths and other aspirants to support and canvass votes for him ahead the 2023 general elections.
