LG Elections: Hon. Salisu, others emerge PDP Chairmanship, Councillorship consensus candidates

Ahead of the August 17 local government elections in Bauchi state, Hon. Salisu Husssini and others have emerged as consensus candidates for Misau Local Government Chairmanship and councillorship of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) respectively.
Unveiling the Chairmanship and Councillorship candidates, the Chairman PDP stakeholders in Misau, Alhaji Muhammad Yarima Sa’in Misau, announced that all the candidates emerged through consensus.
The party stakeholders Chairman also presented the candidates before party loyalists, elders and stakeholders in an event held at his residence in Misau yesterday.
He said that the PDP adopted consensus among the contenders due to its known tradition of loyalty, discipline and mutual respect for each other.
Sa’in Misau who said that the exercise was conducted peacefully, called on party members and the general public to vote for all PDP candidates in the election.
He stated that the party will be victorious due to the laudable people oriented projects it is executing across the state.
The party stakeholders chairman urged all party members and contenders for the various positions to work in harmony towards the success of the party, adding that PDP is the last hope of common man.
On his part, the Misau local government Party Chairman, Hon. Abdu Haruna Sirko commended the stakeholders and all the contenders for the maturity shown during the exercise.
He described the initiative as a testimony of their dedication towards uplifting the party.
Speaking on behalf of the candidates, the Chairmanship flag bearer, Hon. Salisu Husssini, thanked the party for reposing confidence in them.
He promised that all the candidates will ensure that they do not fail the electorates and will continue to be good ambassadors of the party.
The representative of the party leadership at the State level who witnessed the event, Malam Nura Isah Akuyam, commended the conduct of the exercise, describing Misau as the stronghold of the PDP in Bauchi state.
Our Correspondent reports that all the 16 councillorship candidates attended the event in which they were presented before the party stakeholders, among others.
