Bauchi Senator Dr. Dahuwa dumps PDP, cites prolonged internal squabble as reasons

The Senator representing Bauchi North senatorial district, Bauchi state, Senator (Dr.) Samaila Dahuwa Kaila has resigned his membership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

In a letter he personally signed and addressed to the Ward Chairman P.D.P Tsakuwa/Kofar Gabar Ward, Senator Dahuwa who is the deputy chairman Senate committee on health, said his resignation is due to incessant internal squabble that led to unnecessary factionalisation within the
People Democratic Party (P.D.P).

According to him, squabble is seriously affecting his ablity to deliver his constitutional responsibility effectively as an elected representative of his
constituency in the 10th Senate.

“The incessant internal squabble that led to unnecessary factionalisation within the
People Democratic Party (P.D.P) is seriously affecting my ablity to deliver my constitutional responsibility effectively as an elected representative of my
constituency in the 10th Senate”, the senator categorically stated.

“It is in line with the above and after due consultation with my political associates
that I come to the conclusion of changing my political platform at this point in time”, he declared.

Senator Dahuwa added, “accordingly, I hereby write to inform you of my decision to resign my membership
of the People Democratic Party (P.D.P) with immediate effect”.

While thanking the PDP leadership for giving him the opportunity to serve the country as a senator, Dr. Dahuwa expressed readiness to work with the party in the future for the benefit of Nigerians.

The letter of the resignation which is dated 06 October, 2025, was copied to the Senate Minority Leader and the State Chairman of the P.D.P Bauchi State.
