2023: Bauchi Central Senatorial Zone Would Produce Next State Governor, Says Sen Jika
Senator Halliru Dauda Jika, representing Bauchi central senatorial district in the Senate has expressed confidence that the zone would produce the next governor of the state come 2023 polls.
Hon. Jika, who heads the Senate committee on police affairs has noted that the time has come for the Bauchi central zone to assume the mantle of leadership of the state via the forthcoming general elections.
Speaking while launching his empowerment programme targeted mostly at vulnerable people especially women, the senator expressed optimism that with the support of the people and God the Almighty, he would clinch the Bauchi governorship seat in the 2023 polls.
Hon. Dauda Jika, also a onetime speaker of the Bauchi state House of Assembly told the people of the North senatorial district that they would soon be close to power when the central district in 2023 take the governorship seat by way of popular votes.
Jika told the mammoth crowd that besieged Azare venue of Dauda Halliru Jika Skills Acquisition Training and Women Empowerment that he had toured all nooks and crannies of Bauchi state where he was tumultuously received by agents of positive change.
Presenting a letter of commendation and honour to the senator for the revolutionary transformation, the Chiroman Shira, Alhaji Garban Balu expressed delight with the numerous development projects undertaken by the senator particularly in the central and northern zones of the state.
The occasion was organized by a political group, the Concerned Youths of Katagum Zome led by Engr. Muhammad Kabir had notable politicians on the entourage of Senator Dauda Jika that included Hon. Abdullahi Matori and Alhaji Kawu Labaran.
Engr. Muhammad Kabir has earlier in a welcome address enumerated the numerous projects the senator has undertaken in his constituency which included water supply facilities, health facilities, schools, electricity, as well as empowerment where he distributed over 100 vehicles, 250 tricycles, over 300 sewing machines, among others.
Kabir revealed that Senator Jika facilitated the recruitment or employment of 103 constituents to the military, 314 into the police force, 26 to the Central Bank of Nigeria, 26 to the national grid, 28 to the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), 19 into DSS and 10 to the FIRS.
