By Idris Khalid

Supporters of Nigerian Ambassador to Germany, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, have observed that only their boss has the competency to get Bauchi state out of the woods.

To this end, the supporters asked Ambassador Tuggar to vie for the governorship of the state, failure of which they have no option other than to compel him through court litigation.

The chairman of the Maitama Tuggar Foundation, Alhaji Bello Muhammad Tukura sounded the threat while talking to the press in Bauchi on Thursday, saying the Ambassador is a committed patriotic to the course of Bauchi state, whom they said if given the mantle of leadership would developmentally take Bauchi to unprecedented heights.

He explained that they are still awaiting him to pick the gubernatorial nomination for of the All Progressives Congress (APC) within the stipulated time provided by the Electoral Act, and failure for him to do so, they would take appropriate action.

Tukura stated, “The moment the Ambassador said that he no longer has interest for the governorship of Bauchi state comes 2023 election, we have no option other than to take legal action against him”.

“We know our economic prospects rely heavily on monthly salaries, which presently a lot of civil servant don’t enjoy, some for years, other for several months. If one got his or her salary this month, he or she is not sure about the next month”, Tukura frowned.

Tukura expressed confidence that once the Ambassador assume the mantle of leadership of Bauchi state in 2023 polls, he would get the citizens out of the present quagmire as he would economically transform the state.
