2023: Why Governor Bala deserves tenure renewal- PDP’s Ishaya Dangana

As days counts to the March Governorship and state houses of assembly elections, a Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party PDP in Bauchi state, Hon. Ishaya Dangana has offered reasons why the incumbent governor of the state, Bala Mohammed should be re-elected.
Speaking in an interview with our Corresspondent on Monday in Bauchi, Dangana who is a staunch believer in Bala’s leadership style, commended his doggedness in improving the living standard of the citizenry through his people oriented infrastructural development in the state.
Hon Ishaya Dangana who is from Bogoro local government area of the state, enjoined the people of Bogoro, Dass and Tafawa-Balewa as well as Bauchi in general, to ensure that Bala Mohammed is re-elected to consolidate on the gains of his administration.
He said, senator Bala Mohammed will no doubt win the upcoming Governorship election to enable him finish the numerous ongoing developmental projects and programmes he has started across the state.
Hon. Dangana who recalled that the road construction from CBN roundabout to federal low-cost which was initiated by the past APC government couldn’t be completed after four years until Governor Bala Mohammed executed the project immediately he assumed office in 2019.
“That road took the past administration of APC consecutive four years without completing it, but when senator Bala Mohammed came on board, he was able to finish it within few months”, he said.
The PDP stalwart explained that Governor Bala Mohammed did not stop there, but also ensured that all uncompleted projects inherited from the previous administration were executed within the shortest possible time.
While commending the Governor for embarking on new projects across the 20 local government areas of the state, Dangana thanked the Governor for executing the Bogoro to Lusa and to Mallar road as well as the ongoing Boi- Tapshin roads in Bogoro local government area.
He also praised the Governor for carrying out road project that cut across Kumbala, Kundak, Wurno and Burga in Tafawa-Balewa local government area of the state.
“Senator Bala Mohammed last week, promised to, if given the second mandate, award contract for the construction of road from Lere, Marti, Sara, Gambar which will link with Boi”, he said.
According to him, in the plan, another road to be constructed is expected to start from Marti to Kalabu, linking the areas with Tafawa Balewa town and neibouring plateau state.
Dangana said, apart from executing numerous developmental projects too many to mention, the Governor after completing Sabon Kaura road, carried out others within the state capital.
On Agriculture, Dangana said, “before the first rain of the year, Governor Bala Mohammed use to ensure that enough farm inputs are readily available for farmers in order to boost the agricultural sector in the state, he has always directed the state fertiliser blending company to sell the commodity at a lower price that farmers can easily afford”.
He noted that Governor Bala also came up with the Youth and Women empowerment Programme, known as Kaura Economic Empowerment Programme (KEEP) which thousands of the citizens have benefited immensely.
The PDP Chieftain added that, under the KEEP, the Governor procured hundreds of tricycles and cars and distributed to the youth to keep them Self employed.
Dangana added that, on assumption of office, Bala Mohammed’s administration in collaboration with the World Bank, executed N20 billion water projects to boost water supply in the state.
“Part of the projects was the laying of a 150-kilometre water pipes within the Bauchi metropolitan, the laying of 1,000-millimetre diameter transmission mains from Gubi dam to Warinje reservoir and the construction of seven million-litre reservoirs at Buzaye Hill”, he said.
Hon. Dangana urged the good people of Bauchi State to keep their permanent voters cards (PVC) ready in order to vote for governor Bala Mohammed, including other candidates of the PDP from top to bottom.
He said, there is no reason whatsoever, for any Bauchi state reasonable citizen to cast his or her vote for the APC or any other party candidate come March 2023.
