Duguri bandits attack: Situation under control, Police reassures residents

The Bauchi State Police Command has announced massive deployment of joint security personnel to affected communities in Alkaleri Local Government Area, following a resurgence of security concerns in the area.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Command, SP Nafiu Habib stated this at a press conference held on behalf of the Police Commissioner, Sani-Omolori Aliyu on Thursday.

The Police Commissioner, reassured residents of Mansur and other surrounding communities of Alkaleri local government area that the security situation is under control, despite recent incidents in neighboring Gwana district.

The command attributed the security challenges to the infiltration of criminal elements from neighboring states and confirmed that massive deployments of security personnel and enhanced weaponry have been put in place to subdue kidnapping and banditry.

SP Habib said collaborative efforts between police, military, DSS, NCDC, and other security agencies, with the support of the Bauchi State Government, are yielding positive results, with operatives working tirelessly to ensure peace and stability in the affected areas.

The command emphasized the importance of community cooperation in the fight against crime, advising residents to provide intelligence information to security agencies and report suspicious activities, assuring that the their identities will be protected.

The Nigeria Police Force encourages residents to take advantage of the security measures in place and go about their daily activities without fear.
