Shira LG CTC Chairman distributes Palliatives to residents

The Caretaker Committee Chairman of Shira local government area of Bauchi state, Hon.Babangida Ishaq Abdullahi has flagged-off fuel subsidy removal palliatives distribution to the people of his domain.
The event which was held at the local government headquarters on Tuesday was in line with the directives given by Governor Bala Mohammed of the state.
Our Corresspondent gathered that the Governor had directed for the immediate distribution of the palliatives across 20 local governments after performing the Flag-off ceremony at the Sir Abubakar Tafawa memorial stadium, Bauchi recently.

Speaking during the distribution ceremony, the Caretaker Committee Chairman, Hon.Babangida Ishaq Abdullahi said the intervention is been carried out in stages.
According to him, the stages include immediate emergency intervention which will target the beneficiaries made up of the poor and the vulnerable who would receive rice, millet, and grains among others.
“I want use this opportunity to thank the government officials here present, particularly, the Commissioner, Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management”, he said.
“I want to also appreciate our amiable Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed Kauran Bauchi as well as Mr President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu who made it possible for this exercise to take place”, Hon. Babangida Ishaq Abdullahi further said.
The local government Chairman who also commended the traditional leaders for their effort in promoting peaceful coexistence within their domains, noted that their contribution has greatly assisted towards equitable distribution of the palliatives.
While assuring that the palliative packages will reached the targeted masses, the local government chairman enjoined them to ensure judicious usage of the items.
In a goodwill message, one of the stakeholders in Shira local government area who is the Adviser Political to the Governor RT honourable Abubakar Ahmed Faggo, congratulated the beneficiaries of the palliatives.
He said that Governor Bala Mohammed of the state had during the flag off of the distribution recently noted that the items being distributed are not meant to wipe out poverty or hunger in the land but to cushion the negative impact of fuel subsidy removal.
He urged the beneficiaries to bear in mind that the items were meant to assuage their sufferings and as such, they should good use of the items.
He commended the caretaker Committee Chairman of Shira for exhibiting high sense of purposeful leadership since he came on board months ago, urging the people of the area to continue to pray for his success.
