Bauchi’s Boundaries Beyond Wike’s Reach, Unity Unshakable, Says Bauchi Speaker

Bauchi, Nigeria– The Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly and a senior member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Abubakar Y. Suleiman, has strongly rebuked Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, for his recent comments and actions, which are perceived as threats to the unity of the party and the stability of Bauchi State.

Suleiman, a dedicated PDP member, voiced his deep concern over Wike’s “increasingly problematic” behavior, describing it as a serious threat to the cohesion of the PDP and the broader principles of democracy in Nigeria.

“Minister Wike’s persistent and often divisive rhetoric is undermining the very principles that the PDP stands for—fairness, unity, and democratic governance,” Suleiman stated. He emphasized that Wike’s actions are creating unnecessary tension within the party, potentially weakening its collective strength as it continues to uphold the values that have made the PDP a formidable force in Nigerian politics.

Suleiman pointed specifically to Wike’s recent comments regarding Bauchi State, which have sparked unease among party members and constituents. He criticized Wike’s remarks as reckless and irresponsible, particularly the minister’s inflammatory statement about “putting fire” in Bauchi, which Suleiman described as “alarming.”

“Bauchi has always been known for its peaceful coexistence and respect for democratic processes,” he said. “We cannot allow such destructive language to incite discord or disrupt the harmony we have worked so hard to maintain.”

The Speaker called on the leadership of the PDP, both at the state and national levels, to intervene swiftly to restore order and reaffirm the party’s commitment to democratic processes. He warned that if left unchecked, Wike’s actions could destabilize not only the party but also the broader political landscape in Nigeria.

“Our strength lies in our unity, our commitment to democracy, and our unwavering dedication to the progress and development of Nigeria,” Suleiman asserted. “We must remain vigilant in protecting these principles and ensure that those who seek to undermine them are called to order.”

The statement serves as a strong reminder of the PDP’s stance that no individual, regardless of their influence, should be allowed to derail the party’s mission or compromise the peace and stability of the nation. Suleiman concluded by reaffirming the resilience of the PDP in Bauchi, declaring that the state’s boundaries are “beyond Wike’s reach” and that their unity remains “unshakable.”
