2024 Christmas: Bauchi Governor orders payment of December Salary

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state has ordered for the immediate payment of December Salary to Civil Servants in order to facilitate smooth celebration of this year’s Christmas in the state.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Civil Service Matters, Mr Abdon Dalla Gin made this known while briefing newsmen yesterday on how Christmas gifts donated to christians by the Bauchi state government are being distributed.

“It is also gratifying to note that as the Christmas gifts items were being distributed, His Excellency the Executive Governor has approved the release of December Salary to Civil Servants to assist them make purchases during this Yuletide period”, he said.

“And by saying yuletide period, we are talking about Christmas season and also the New year”, Mr Gin explained.

Gin who expressed appreciation to Governor Bala Mohammed for the gesture on behalf of the Standing Committee On Christmas gifts distribution Committee which he is chairing, praised the Governor for treating all the citizens equally.

“The committee therefore wishes to use this medium to thank His Excellency Governor Bala Abdukadir Mohammed and his Government for this great benevolence. We also appreciate his opened and accommodating posture that has thrown away premodial sentiments, thereby treating people of the state with tremendous love and care”, he said.

According to him, the gesture of the Governor has made all manner of people in the state to feel sense of belonging with the consequent effect that peace reign supreme in Bauchi state.

“Other ethnic groups resident in Bauchi state and people with special needs that requires close attention are among the beneficiaries of this laudable gesture of the governor in this festive season that signifies love and togetherness”, Mr Gin stated.

According to him, since the inception in 2019, Governor Bala Mohammed established the tradition of providing food items to the christian Community to enable them have a pleasant commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ.

Mr Gin said that the food items provided by the Bauchi state government for this year’s Christmas include 72 bulls, 139 Rams, 1,510 bags of 80kg rice and 179 Jerricans of Groundnut oil.

He disclosed that the items have been equitably distributed across the state and even beyond by the standing distribution Committee accordingly.

Gin also said that the local government Chairmen are complementing this gesture of the governor by assisting the christian Communities in their respective areas with food items.
