FedPoly Bauchi Matriculates 5,181 Students

The Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi has matriculated a total number of 5, 181 students for the 2020/2021 academic session. 
Speaking during matriculation ceremony over the weekend, Rector Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi Arc. Sanusi Waziri Gumau, said that the institution has zero tolerance for sexual harassment, examination misconduct, certificate forgery and all forms of misdemeanor from staff or students.
The Rector said the institution received 8,604 application and 8,376 were admitted, but 5,181 were registered as bonafide students of the polytechnic. 
Gumau gave a breakdown of the matriculated students as Higher National Diploma (HND) – 1,745, National Diploma – 2,227, Diploma – 1,176, as well as IJMB – 33 only.
While congratulating the matriculating students, the Rector charged them not to indulge in indecent dressing and cultism.
He added, “Our reputation for academic excellence and character molding, which we have built for ourselves overtime, will not be allowed to be compromised by actions or inactions of anybody, whether they are staff or students, no matter how highly placed they are.
“Recently, you must have heard that the Governing Council and the Academic Board of the Polytechnic had approved the dismissal of two academic staff for sexual harassment and 30 students for examination misconducts and certificate forgery.”
According to him, the Institution has recently played host to over one hundred staff and resource persons from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), Kaduna for accreditation, reaccreditation and resources inspections for the courses run in various academic departments. 
“As we speak, we received communication from the NBTE on the approval for accreditation and reaccreditation of nineteen (19) programmes and another approval to commence ten (10) new ND and HND programmes as follows: National Diploma Computer Engineering, National Diploma Fisheries Technology, National Diploma Crime Management, National Diploma Cooperative Economics and Management and National Diploma Taxation.”
Others are Higher National Diploma Science Laboratory Technology (Microbiology), Higher National Diploma Forestry Technology, Higher National Diploma Crop Production Technology and Higher National Diploma Library and Information Science.
