GSIPDC Holds Retreat On Strategy Formulation, Implementation

  

The Gombe State Investment and Property Development Company, GSIPDC has held a strategy retreat to boost the capacity of the company’s key personnel as well as to chart ways on how best to turn it around for the benefit of the good people of the State. 

Speaking during the opening session of the programme, the Chairman of the board of GSIPDC, Dr Umaru Kwairanga (Sarkin Fulanin Gombe) said the purpose of the retreat was to support the company in strategy formulation and implementation to improve efficiency. 

He said the  development is in line with Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s purposeful disposition and avowed commitment to ensuring the repositioning of the organisation for the betterment of the State and its citizens. 

Recounting the successes recorded so far by the board, Dr.  Kwairanga said, “I can say with some confidence that we have begun well as the past few months have been spent on critical assessments of the state of the company, interactions with stakeholders and brainstorming on the priorities that we need to focus on first”. 

The chairman expressed optimism that the result of the exercise would benefit not just the company but Gombe State as a whole. 

Dr. Kwairanga noted that “Economic growth does not depend only on the natural resources that the Almighty has bestowed, but on the ability to attract Investments in form of human and financial capital that will utilise and manage such resources optimally”.  

The factor, he said, has helped some regions and countries develop despite having a lean natural resource base. 

He therefore promised that, with continued support from Governor Inuwa Yahaya, Gombe State, through GSIPDC will attract Investments that will make good use of abundant natural and human resources of the state, thereby growing its GDP to a level above those of bigger states.  

“I once again pledge my resolve to pursue all avenues that will take this company to the highest level of investment companies, including getting the commitment of the highest levels of government where necessary”, he vowed. 

GSIPDC is working with Leonine Consultancy, a capable and efficient firm with a well established reputation for best practice in strategy to provide a workable and implementable roadmap for the company.  

It will be recalled that, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya had, while inaugurating the board of the GSIPDC challenged the members, whom he described as tested and trusted professionals, to bring to bear, their individual wealth of experience towards building a virile firm that can attract investment and boost the economy of the state.
