The Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Misau local government area of Bauchi state, Alhaji Ahmed Maigari has said that the party’s unity in Misau local government area is intact.
Maigari stated this while addressing party delegates, house of assembly as well as house of representatives aspirants from the area on Friday and Sunday, said that the aim of holding the event was to create a platform for the aspirants to share their manifestos with the delegates and members of the public.
He said that the event was supposed to hold in two phases, first, for house of assembly aspirants before that of the house of representatives the following day.
Ahmed Maigari however said, it was not wrong that the house of representatives aspirants appeared in the first day of the event.
“But one of them have taken excuse for today and he is appealing for another opportunity to be created for him to appear before you and made his manifestos known, and I have granted his request”, the LG party Chairman informed the delegates.
Maigari who said such event has never been held before, explained that it was organized with the aim of uniting the aspirants with the APC members.
The LG Chairman of the APC while criticizing the PDP led administration in the state for not fulfilling the promises it made during campaigns called on unity among party members in order defeat the PDP in the coming 2023 general elections in Bauchi.
While pointing out that Misau and the entire people of Bauchi are APC, he noted that if the party members will unite themselves and bring out credible persons as candidates, they will not suffer in winning the general elections.
“If we don’t produce credible and competent candidates, honestly speaking we will find it very difficult because our major opponent knows the game very well and they have the power”, Ahmed Maigari said.
He urged the aspirants to be patient with one another and accept the outcome of the Primaries in good faith knowing fully well that only one person will emerge per seat.
Maigari added that, if the APC formed government in the state, those who lost in the Primaries would be compensated.
He appealed to the aspirants to shun personal interest and campaign for the APC in all the nook and cranny of the state in order to defeat the ruling PDP in the state come 2023.
The APC chairman who criticized the PDP led administration in the state for only embarking on road construction without settling gratuity of workers, noted that the state could have witnessed multiplier effect if it were to be settling gratuity.
The Misau Local government APC chairman informed the aspirants that any person who decamps to other political party after been elected on the APC platform would be recalled.
Responding, one of the aspirants, Mohammed Aliko said he was moved to aspire for the seat of Misau/Dambam house of representatives seat because the constituency has for the past three years lacked the needed representation.
He pledged to support any person that win the primaries if the process of the election is free, fair and credible, adding that at his age, he would never cross carpet to another party simply because he loses in the primaries.
He pledged to if elected, create job opportunities for the youths and women in the area, adding that, mechanized farming would also be promoted among the farmers to boost their production capacity.
The Reps aspirant who reminded the delegates that the eyes of the masses are on them to choose credible and competent people as candidates, noted that whatever they choose now they have to bear with it for the next four years.
