Federal university of health sciences Azare to establish four institutes

The federal university of health sciences Azare FUHSA has hinted its intention to establish four institutes within the institution.

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Bala Mohammed made this known while speaking during the combined matriculation ceremony of the University’s two sets of its pioneer students yesterday.

“The university is currently working with different partners to establish four
institutes”, he said.

The Vice Chancellor pointed out that the institutions to be established includes, Maternal and Child Health, Oral Health, Public Health, and Humanitarian Institutes in addition to a comprehensive cancer scan.

Professor Bala Mohammed the matriculation of the new students as a critical milestone in the history of development of the University.

“These pioneer students will be making
history today as the foundation Students and in the future, when they graduate to impact on humanity using the character and knowledge they acquired”, he said.

The vice Chancellor recalled that the University was established by President Muhammadu Buhari on 16th June 2022.

According to him, the principal officers of the University were appointed with effect from 27 January 2022, barely a year ago.

He said that the full commitment, through teamwork of the management and various committees of volunteer academics helped the management in shaping its initial academic programs, curricula, infrastructure needs and institutional documents.

“This gave us a good head start, with subsequent resource verification visit by the National Universities Commission and advisory visit by the Medical and Dental Council of
Nigeria”, he said.

The vice Chancellor noted that the university has reached out to the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria and
the Radiographers Council of Nigeria which enabled it have regulatory inputs into its programs before take-off.

He said that the university is matriculating students into the five academic programs across 7
faculties which includes, medicine, dentistry, nursing, nutrition/dietetics, and
radiography.
