Gov Bala visits Katagum victims of dynamite explosion, armed robbery in Zaki, pledges palliation

Bauchi state Governor, Bala Mohammed has on Monday, paid a sympathy visit to the victims of recent dynamite explosion which damaged few buildings in Katagum community of the state.
The Governor who first visited the Emir of Katagum in his palace, Dr Umar Farouk ll to sympathize with him over the two incidents that occurred within his domain was accompanied by the Commissioner of Police, Bauchi, Aminu Alhassan, his running mate, Auwal Jatau, state PDP chairman and representatives of heads of other security agencies.
The Governor who also visited victims of armed robbery attack in Zaki local government area of the state, said his administration will not relent in providing adequate security to the lives and properties of the citizenry.
Bala who expressed appreciation to God that no life was lost, promised to provide some palliation to the victims of the two incidents to cushion the effect of losing their properties.
The governor and the Emir also visited the scene of the explosion where he assured the affected persons that government will provide them with some palliation to alleviate their sufferings.
Governor Bala said he was at the palace of the Emir together with his entourage to sympathize with him over the unfortunate situation that has caused a lot of Panic, damage and fear among the residents.
“The shooting incident in Zaki local government in Katagum area was caused to our understanding, not by terrorists, but for economic reasons”, he said.
“We have come here to assure you and the Emirate that the state is conscious and passionate on security, but please accept our condolences and sympathy because the incidents has cause a lot distress to the people of Katagum”, the Governor added.
Bala Mohammed who reiterated the commitment of his administration to providing security to the citizens, noted that government will also double its efforts to ensure that those that are far away from the state capital are given special consideration.
“I am here with the security commanders to assure you that Bauchi will be safe and secured and we are going to make sure that we lend more support to the security agencies here so that they can do thier jobs” he said.
Responding, the Emir of Katagum, Dr Umar Farouk ll, thanked the Governor for deeming it fit to commiserate with him and the entire people of Katagum and Zaki LGs over the sad incident.
Governor Bala who after commiserating with the Katagum Emir and his people, proceeded to Zaki local government area to sympathize with the District Head of Zaki over an attack by armed robbers on some POS operators in the area.
Our Corresspondent reports that, before proceeding to Zaki, the Governor visited some patients of the robbery attack receiving treatment at the federal medical center in Azare town where he pledged to settle their medical bills.
