We’re optimistic of victory on Saturday, Bauchi APC Reps candidate, Leko says

As Nigeria prepares to go to polls Saturday, the House of Representatives candidate for Bogoro, Dass and Tafawa Balewa federal constituency under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ja’afaru Gambo Leko has boasted that Buachi is an APC stronghold and as such, he is sure of victory after the election results are counted.

Leko who led hundreds of supporters to welcome the former speaker, house of representatives, Rt. Hon Yakubu Dogara at Maciyan Bello, a community bordering Plateau state from Tafawa Balewa LGA of Bauchi on Thursday, called on the people of the state to vote for the APC from top to bottom.

“We are optimistic that we are going to win because of our relationship with everyone regardless of religion or tribe”, he said.

The APC house of representatives candidate while describing the former speaker as his mentor, said that they will win the upcoming Saturday elections as a result of the good relationship they have with the people at the grassroot.

“You can see that we are here with youth and women groups to give him a rousing welcome. This is not a hired crowd, they are our supporters, they are our lovers. We are loyal to our mentor, our boss, chairman of stakeholders of Dass, Bogoro and Tafawa Balewa, we are here to welcome him home because we are his foot soldiers”, Leko added.

The Reps candidate who said Bauchi is not a PDP state, pointed out that the Governor was only opportuned to win the election, adding that the APC has nine house of representatives out of twelve while all three senators from the state are APC members.

“Bauchi is an APC state and there is no doubt about that, we are still in control and we are going to win our election by God’s grace”, Leko added.

The house of representatives candidate while urging the people of Bauchi state to pray for a hitch-free elections enjoined the party supporters to be calmed, peaceful and law abiding before, during and after the elections.
