Bala defies Bauchi political gladiators, beats APC’s Sadique to emerge re-elected

The incumbent governor of Bauchi state, Senator Bala Mohammed has defied political gladiators’ factor in the state to beat the Guber candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ambassador Sadique Baba Abubakar in the Saturday 18 Governorship polls.
The Governor who polled 525,280 votes against his closest rival, Sadique Baba Abubakar’s 432,272 has before the election, faced with serious gang-up from power brokers in the state to stop his re-election bid in favor of the APC Candidate.
Announcing the results, the Bauchi state Governorship election returning officer, Professor Abdulkarim Sabo Mohammed, announced that the candidate of the New Nigerian Peoples Party NNPP, Hon Halliru Dauda Jika got 60,496 votes.
He said, of the 2,749,268 registered voters, one million, fifty eight thousand, three hundred and eighty one thousand (1,0,58, 381) were accredited.
Prof. Abdulkarim who said 1,0,58,381 voters were accredited, announced that 1,0,49600 valid votes were cast stated that 15,221 votes were rejected.
“That Mohammed Bala of the PDP having satisfied the requirement of the law, is returned elected”, he declared.
