Eid-el-Fitr: Governor Inuwa Enjoins Muslims To Imbibe Lessons Of Ramadan; Sustain Momentum Of Devotion, Prayers
As Muslims in Gombe State join their counterparts the world over to celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Fitr marking the successful end of Ramadan fast, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has enjoined the Ummah in the state to sustain the momentum of supplication, devotion and prayers for the peace, development and prosperity of the State and Nigeria as a whole.
The Governor made the call in his Sallah goodwill message issued by his media aide, Mal. Ismaila Uba Misilli, the governor Inuwa, who described Eid-el-Fitr as a period of sober reflection, charged the Muslim faithful to replicate in their daily lives, the lessons learnt in the holy month of Ramadan.
He said, “As we celebrate the Eid-el-Fitr festival, I wish to admonish us to learn from the good lessons of Ramadan which connotes piety, obedience, and selflessness. We must all imbibe the tenets of Islam which promotes peace, tolerance, modesty and love”.
Governor Inuwa tasked citizens not to lose sight in the face of current socio-economic challenges in the country but to remain resolute and prayerful, saying with faith, the nation’s trying moments will be over and Nigeria will emerge stronger and more united.
He urged the people to continue to cherish the relative peace and harmony enjoyed in the state, calling on the clerics and traditional rulers to continue to preach the gospel of unity and tolerance among the diverse people for peace and growth of Gombe State and the country at large, describing peace as a catalyst for socio-economic development of any society.
Governor Inuwa, however emphasized that his administration would not condone any act that is capable of undermining the prevailing peace and would remain focused on delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of the State.
He called for special prayers for leaders at all levels. “At this critical time that power will soon change hands in our country, it is my appeal that we all indulge in prayers for a peaceful transition and in particular fot the incoming leaders at various positions for God to grant them wisdom and guide them in discharging their leadership responsibilities”.
“Let me express my immense gratitude to our traditional rulers, community and religious leaders and indeed the entire people of Gombe state for their support to our administration. I urge us all to rededicate ourselves and contribute positively to the progress and development of our dear State. I wish to assure you that our administration is committed to ensuring speedy and sustainable development of the Gombe state in its entire ramification.”
