AfriLaw wants President Buhari reappoints NSCDC Commandant General.

African Law Foundation (AfriLaw) has appeal to President Muhammadu Buhari to reappoint Mr Abdullah Gana as the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC).
The Civil Society Organization which made the appeal in a press statement by its Founder, Barrister, Okereke Chinwike noted that Mr. Abdullah Gana is a quintessential, detribalised and patriotic leader.
Barrister Chinwike who described Gana as a diligent and dedicated security professional and exceptional Commandant General said he has within his first tenure as CG of the Corps, tranformed and repositioned it as one of the most outstanding, resourceful and respectable federal government security institution in Nigeria.
African Law Foundation (AFRILAW) is a Civil Society Organization that is working on Security Sector Governance with the aim of strenghtening and improving effective private security governance in Nigeria.
“We are pleading with the Nigeria President to re-appoint Mr. Abdullah Gana as the Commandant General (CG) of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for a second tenure”, the release reiterated.
The organization opined that CG Gana has within the time under review, made many great and wonderful accomplishments in the areas of improving the safety and security of critical national assets across the country.
Other areas touched by the CG according to AfriLaw are, the introduction of Agro-Rangers for improved security within agricultural sector, increased reduction in farmers and herders’ clashes across the country as well as redeeming the image of Nigeria educationally by partnering with Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
The rest of the interventions made by the NSCDC CG AfriLaw said are; robust relationship and cooperation with other federal security agencies, stoppage of circulation of pre-registered SIM cards, sustained tackling of illegal mining and strategic collaboration with traditional rulers to nip in the bud the incessant banditry menace in the country.
The founder of the African Law said noted that Corps under Mr. Gana has witnessed an improved and effective management of both human and financial resources, adding that there is an increased staff welfare which has resulted in dedication to duty by men and officers of NSCDC.
Okereke Chinwike said NSCDC has established partnership with AFRILAW toward strengthening and improvement of private security regulation and oversight for effective private security governance and responsible services in Nigeria through multi-stakeholder engagement.
By reappointing Gana, “AFRILAW strongly believed it will sustain the pleasant efforts and results recorded by NSCDC under him as a result of his commitment and readiness to take the Corps to the next level.
