The Coalition of Qur’anic disciples known as (Almajiri) both memorisers and reciters from the 36 states in Nigeria and Africa has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to appoint former Bauchi state governor, Mallam Isa Yuguda as Central Bank Governor or a ministerial position.
The group also called on Tinubu to honour the Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni for their love and contribution for the Qur’anic disciples (Almajiran).
The scholar who is the director of education under the auspices of Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi Foundation Sheikh, Sayyadi Aliyu Sise Dahiru Bauchi while speaking with journalists in Bauchi yesterday, also urged the President to appoint the person of Mai Mala’s choice in any position that will serve the interest of common man.
He said he personally went round the country and beyond to met with many Qur’anic memorisers and reciters and they recognized Yuguda as the best among former and serving governors who has a high regard and respect for Almajiri pupils.
Sise said, “We support Yuguda, because he supported us, he carry us along, he honour the learners and teachers of the book of Allah Holy Qur’an. When people are showing stigmatisation to Almajiri, Yuguda embraced them, we also embrace him we are appealing to president Tinubu to do the right thing at a right time and appoint Yuguda Central Bank Governor or a Minister for the success of his administration.”
He said, when Yuguda was a Governor of Bauchi State, earmarked and released fifty five million naira (55m) monthly and about 20 cars to take care of Almajiri both their teachers and pupils.
Sayyadi Ali added that, “Yuguda considering his political weight and popularity coupled with the significant role he played in the 2023 general election to ensure that Tinubu got the required percentage in the state and other states in the North East sub-region is qualified to get the position.”
He said that as a former Minister of transportation and aviation, and two-term governor, Yuguda has what it takes to be the representative of the people of the state and Nigeria.
Sheikh Sayyadi expressed gratitude of Qur’anic reciters, learners and memorisers to Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni who asked all Almajiri Qur’anic pupils and their teachers to return to his state and went personally to the House of Sheikh Dahiru and commiserated with him when some governors rejected them years back.
Sayyadi advised President Tinubu to be wary with anti people politicians like former Kaduna state governor Nasir El-rufai instead he should honour real politicians who support the Almajiri education.
“We also wish to state that if the president wants to succeed he should honour the person that honour the book of Allah.”
He berated former Governor of Kaduna State Mallam Nasir Elrufa’i for his alleged hatred bad treatment mated against Almajiri who are Qur’anic learners reciters and memorisers throughout his tenure as a Governor.
Sayyadi advised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to be wary with elrufa’i and his like minds not to draw them closer or to follow their ill advices in the interest of justice, fairness, peace unity and P
progress of the country.
He alleged that during the tenure of El-Rufai he deliberately incited the people of Kaduna State, Nigeria and muslims in the world when he went to a peaceful most respected renown Islamic Scholar Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi and evacuated hundreds of Qur’anic pupils, teargassed them around 2am in the night.
“Elrufai action was reckless and highly condemnable, having failed in his duty to protect the lives and properties of the people instead he went and harassed innocent citizens, his action violated the fundamental human rights of Sheikh and his disciples.
“If not because of our spiritual leader wisdom and his love for peace it will have turn to anarchy considering the large followers he has across the world but as an icon of peace sheikh Pray for Peace in Nigeria as usual,” he added.
