APC Young Leaders Cautions Reps Dogara Against Divisive Tendencies
By Idris Khalid
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Young Leaders Coalition has cautioned representative Yakubu Dogara against divisive tendencies of his recent calling for meeting of party members at Ajuji Hotel Abuja, an action which was said to have generated a lot of controversies in various quarters of the party.
The chairman of the coalition, Musa G. Khalid said in a statement in Bauchi yesterday that Yakubu Dogara is not a party chairman, not a party EXCO, but rather an elected member of the House of Representatives whose recent action, he observed, provoked the party members of Bauchi state.
“The said meeting was planned in bad faith in order to destroy the image of our great party. It is of course an illegal meeting, because any party meeting must be under the chairmanship of the chairman stakeholders, Malam Adamu Adamu through the state party”.
Alhaji Musa G. Khalid described Dogara as just a power hunger whose ‘irresponsible attitude and disrespectful behavior’ the APC Young Leaders Coalition will not condone, pointing out “He is behind our party’s failure in the last 2019 General election in Bauchi state and the record is intact”.
“In the same vein we have noticed his roaming about going to the national leader Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We want to inform the national leadership that he is no longer relevant at the statewide level and even within his own constituency”, Khalid said.
Khalid therefore called on Dogara and his supporters that if they are willing to respect the decision of the party, they must abide by its constitution, otherwise should park their belongings to any other party of their ilk, and called on the party leadership to take necessary action against Dogara and his supporters.
Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara was an immediate past speaker of the House of Representatives and member representing Dass/Tafawa Balewa/Bogoro Federal constituency before last Friday ruling of an Abuja High Court that declared his seat vacant following his carpet crossing from PDP to APC shortly after the 2019 general elections.
