Army Commandant tasks personnel on protection of Nigeria’s territorial integrity

The Commandant of the Nigerian Army, Armour School Bauchi, Major General A. A Adekeye has tasked officers of the Nigerian Army on redoubling efforts towards ensuring the protection of integrity, territory, lives and property of the citizens.
The task was given by Major General A. A Adekeye during an inter-denomination service to commemorate the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day at St. John’s Military Church (Protestant) 33 Artillery Brigade Shadawanka Barracks, Bauchi on Sunday.
The Commandant who applauded the tireless efforts and supreme price paid by the fallen heroes to ensure the protection of the sovereignty of the country, maintained that, such sacrifice has made Nigerian a one indivisible country.
According to the Commandant, every 15th of January is set aside to commemorate the fallen Heroes who served the nation and even paid the supreme price.
Major General Adekeye also acknowledged the achievements recorded so far by the various operational commands of operations “Hadirin Daji in the North East, North West and North Central, urging them to maintain tempo.
Also speaking in a goodwill message, the Air Officer Commanding Special Operation Command of the Nigerian Air Force Bauchi, Air Vice Marshal E.E Effiom encouraged officers to show love and affection to families of late soldiers by visiting them at their respective houses as well as offer some assistance to ameliorate their sufferings.
While praying for the country’s leaders, fallen Heroes and their families, the Air Officer Commanding, appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Bala Mohammed for supporting the country’s security agencies in fighting against crime and criminality.
Earlier in his sermon, Captain Rev. Emmanuel Maidawa, advised the Men and Officer’s of the Nigeria Army to imbibe the spirit of contentment in their day-to-day activities while in service as a sign of appreciation to God Almighty.
“Jesus Christ told his companions to be contented with what God has done for them, being a contentment is being successful and
accomplishing in your life”, the Clergyman said.
He urged the Soldiers to always make their budgets within the limit of their resources “salaries/wages” to avoid creating artificial problems for themselves.
The Reverend who insisted that the officer must eschew any form of extortion just to acquire illegal wealth, urged them and their spouses to always encourage each other on the need to depend on their monthly earnings.
According to him, there is the need for people to live a simple life rather than high life in order not to be accused after retirement.
The Clergyman equally offered prayers for God to continue to rest the fallen heroes in peace as well as provide for their families their needs.
He also prayed God to protect the serving soldiers against all forms of attack from the enemies while discharging their constitutional mandate.
On his part, Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed who was represented by his Special Adviser on Civil Service Matters Mr. Abdon Dala Gin reiterated the commitment of the present administration to supporting the families of the fallen Heroes, Army and other security agencies operating in the state.
The governor also commended the Nigeria Armed Forces for their relentless efforts in keeping the state free of any form insurgency through out his tenure.
The interdemomination church service witnessed series of songs from women fellowship, Sabon Rai among others.
