Bauchi assembly condoles Ekiti state over speaker Afuye’s death

The Bauchi state house of assembly has expressed its condolences to Ekiti state Government, house of assembly and the entire people of the state over the demise of their speaker, Rt. Hon. Funminiyi Afuye.
The condolence message was contained in a summary of the assembly’s Thursday plenary made available to newsmen in Bauchi by the spokesperson of the Speaker of the assembly, Abubakar Y. Suleiman, Mal. Abdul Ahmad Burra.
According to Burra, his principal had while presiding over the plenary, announced the demise of Speaker Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Funminiyi Afuye to his colleagues.
Mal. Burra said that Speaker Abubakar informed the house that his Ekiti state counterpart the Speaker died at Ekiti State Teaching Hospital where he was receiving treatment after suffering a cardiac arrest.
Burra further explained that his boss told his colleagues that the late Speaker was not just a friend but dependable and vibrant colleague.
“On behalf of Honourable Members, Management and Staff of Bauchi State House Assembly, I convey condolences to the Ekiti State Government, Ekiti State House of Assembly and all people of Ekiti State over this great loss”, Burra quoted his boss as saying.
“The Speaker ask the Honourable colleagues to observe one minute silence and special prayer in honour of the late Speaker”, Mal. Burra noted.
He said that speaker Abubakar also announced that he will lead a delegation from the Bauchi state assembly to Ado-Ekiti to pay condolences.
