Bauchi Government pledges partnership with Army to curb insecurity

Bauchi state Government has pledged its resolve to continue partnering with the Nigerian Army and other security agencies operating in the state to protect the lives and properties of the citizens.
The Deputy Governor of the state, Rt. Honourable Mohammed Auwal Jatau stated this on Saturday while speaking at the 2023 West African Social Activities (WASA) held at the 33 Artillery Brigade, Nigerian Army Parade Ground, Shadawanka Barracks, Bauchi.
Rt. Honourable Jatau who represented Governor Bala Mohammed of the state as Guest of Honour of the event, noted that the annual social activities will no doubt help in consolidating the existing good relationship among the various cultural groups cohabiting in the barracks.
Hon. Jatau who described the existing relationship between the army and the people of Bauchi as very cordial, assured that the present administration will continue to work working harmoniously in partnership with the Nigerian Army to ensure peace and security in Bauchi.
The deputy Governor further explained that the state government under Governor Bala Mohammed has been providing the Army and other security Agencies the necessary logistic support to discharge their constitutional mandate effectively.
Mohammed Auwal Jatau commended the Nigerian Army for being apolitical and focused on its constitutional role of defending the integrity of the nation as well as intervening in local crisis and counterinsurgency.
The deputy Governor who expressed hope that the Army and other arms of the military will maintain the posture for their development and development of Nigeria generally, observed that holding the annual social activities underscores the adage that all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
“Having tirelessly and stressfully worked throughout the year therefore, it is only proper that officers and men of the Nigerian Army have a time to not only freshen up but to also socialize”, he said.
Rt. Hon Jatau who noted that the barracks community like the bigger Nigerian society, comprises of people with diverse social and cultural backgrounds, congratulated the Brigade Commander, Nigerian Army 33 Artillery Brigade Bauchi, Brigadier General Emmanuel Egbe as well as officers and men of the Nigerian Army for organizing the event.
He said that the Bauchi state government will not relent in providing logistic support as well as conducive working environment for the security agencies in order to curb insecurity in Bauchi.
Earlier speaking, the Brigade Commander, Nigerian Army 33 Artillery Brigade Bauchi, Brigadier General Emmanuel Egbe thanked Governor Bala Mohammed for its numerous support to the Army.
He assured that the 33 Artillery Brigade under his watch in Bauchi, will continue to work assiduously in collaboration with the Bauchi state government and sister security agencies to address emerging challenges of insecurity.
