Bauchi: Police beefs up security ahead this year’s Eid-el Kabir festivity

The Bauchi state police command has announced the deployment of massive personnel to guarantee the safety of the citizens across the state before, during and after this year’s Eid-el Kabir festivity.
The Acting Public Relations Officer of the Command, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Aminu Gimba Ahmed who stated this in a press statement on Tuesday explained that adequate human and material resources have been put in place with a view to fortifying security of lives and properties.
According to him, the Bauchi State Police Command has re-strategized the security disposition to enable it provide adequate security across the state.
He said that the command has taken into consideration, the possibility of miscreants and disgruntled elements who might want to leverage on the occasion and perpetrate their nefarious activities.
“In view of this, the command has hereby ordered massive deployment of conventional police personnel as well as the tactical teams attached to the Command”, ASP Gimba said.
He further noted that Rapid Response Team (RRS), Anti-kidnapping Unit (AKU), Operation Restore Peace (ORS), Police Mobile Force (PMF) and Explosives Ordinance Disposal and Chemical Biological radioactive Nuclear (EOD&CBRN) operatives have been deployed to various strategic places, especially areas that are susceptible to attack.
“Consequently, Operation Order has been issued, while Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders and DPOs have been directed to ensure apparent visibility policing during the festive period through constant supervision of officers and men deployed for the season with regards to standard operating procedures”, the Ag. PPRO added.
The Command warned trouble makers, miscreants and other criminally minded persons of its aggressive stance to decisively descent on anyone found breaching public peace, law and order, before, during and after the festive period.
“The command once again felicitates with Muslim faithfuls in the State on the Eid-el-Kabir celebration, and equally appreciates the good people of Bauchi state for their support and cooperation with the Police in the state”, he said.
