Bauchi speaker tasks christians on compassion, patriotism

The speaker of the Bauchi state house of assembly, Rt. Abubakar Sulaiman has enjoined christians not to relent in showing compassion, honesty, love and patriotism as preached by Jesus Christ.

Abubakar who is also the Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria made the call while felucitating with christians on the occasion of 2021 Christmas celebration.

In a Christmas message signed and issued to journalists by his spokesperson, Comrade Abdul Ahmad Burra, the Speaker hoped that this year’s Christmas will be filled with happiness, brotherhood and love.

According to him, apart from the festive nature of Christmas, it’s another point of sober reflection on the successes and failures of our lives, communities, states and nation with a view to strengthening our faith.

Other avenues created by Christmas period, the speaker said, include, “contribution to peace and nation building as well as finding solutions to so many problems bedeviling us as individuals and as people of Nigeria”.

The speaker enjoined christians to continue building bond of brotherhood and mutual trust with other faiths in order to move the country out of problems of insecurity, poverty, health, corruption among others.

He commended Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammad for being proactive in securing the state from all sorts of security and social problems, coupled with the unprecedented infrastructural transformation being put in place across the state above its peers.

While urging christians to continue praying for the Governor and all leaders at state and national level, speaker Abubakar prayed that the celebrations will end with all sorts of funs and happiness.
