Bauchi SWAN unveils plan to organize refresher course to boost members’ sports reporting skill

The Leadership of Sports Writers Association (SWAN), Bauchi state Chapter under Comrade Bala Bawaji has unveiled plans to organize and carry out refresher course for the members in order to further boost their reporting skill in terms of sports reporting.
The Chairman of the Association in Bauchi, Bala Bawaji stated this when he led his executive team on a courtesy visit to some media establishments in the state yesterday.
“We are planning to organize a Refresher Course for our members on how to encourage economic development through sports writing”, Bawaji stated.
He requested Media organizations to continue to publicise its activities for the development of sports in the state.
According to him, the association has lined up some sporting events on individual and team basis before the end of the year, hence the need to support the association achieve the target.
He added that the essence of the visits was to introduce the new executives of the association, straighten the existing relationship and seek areas of collaboration in sports awareness and development.
On her part, the state secretary of the association, Madam Elizabeth Kar, urged media heads to encourage their female staff to register with the association in order to boost women participation in sporting activities.
Responding separately, the General manager of Globe FM Mallam Aminu Abdullahi Gombi, represented by Umar Sani Getso, his counterpart of Eagle Radio, Alhaji Muhammad Inuwa Bello and managing director of Albarka Radio, Umar Ladan Salihu, expressed appreciations for the visit.
