Borno community begs Govt, wealthy individual for assistance to complete Ngwa Mosque

Muslim community in Sabon-Fege of Ngwa Town, Hawul Local government Area of Borno state have appealed to the Government, Non Governmental organization as well as wealthy individuals to help them complete a Mosque they started since 2014 but has remained uncompleted to date.

Leader of the community who is also the Imam of the Mosque, Abdullahi Muhammad made the plea on behalf of his Subjects in an interview with our Correspondent Shortly after he led Zuhr prayer at the uncompleted Masjid situated in Sabon-Fege, Ngwa Town, Hawul Local government Area of the state.

Describing the dilapidated situation of the mosque as worrisome, the Muslim Cleric narrated their ordeals on how they carry out five times daily prayer in an open area be it under the rain or sun.

He further recalled that the Sabon-Fege Muslim community have been under such unpalatable conditions since his predecessor who initiated the project and injected both financial and spiritual resources when he was alive.

Abdullahi Muhammad reiterated the need for government, NGOs and spirited individuals to intervene in order to complete the construction of the Mosque, said, if completed, it will ameliorate their sufferings.

He quoted verses from the Holy Qur’an that spoke on the Significance of building Mosque among other religious obligations.

“We want use this medium to request government, Non Governmental organization as well as wealthy individuals to come to our aide by completing our long over due uncompleted mosque which was started by my late father Mal. Madu A.Iliyasu whom I succeeded”, he said.

“All our efforts to complete the project has proved abortive as most of us are less-privileged. We hardly earn for our living, that is why we decided to look for assistance from all stakeholders”, the Imam added.

“I quoted verses from the Holy Qur’an that induces Muslims on the importance of building mosque”, Abdullahi stated.
