Child-is-Gold Foundation partners Bauchi Government to curb gender-based violence

In its determination to curb the menace of Gender-based violence in Bauchi, Child-Is-Gold Foundation has entered into partnership with the Bauchi State Government to reach out to the hard-to-reach areas where most of the violence against women and children are being perpetrated.

As part of the 16-Day Activism Against Gender Based Violence, the Foundation’s Project Coordinator, Amina Madaki, said that for the challenges facing women and children to be tackled, more women are urgently needed in policy making.

Speaking at the Ministry of Women Affairs and Child Development, the Coordinator said that the Foundation in collaboration with Nigerian Women Trust Fund has embarked on capacity building for women in Bauchi State to enable women actively participate in governance, decision making for them to have a voice on women issues.

In her response, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development, Hajara Gidado assured the readiness of the Bauchi state government to support the Foundation.
