Establish more sport facilities to curb youth restiveness – Tennis veteran advises Bauchi Govt

A 50 year old Tennis veteran, Alhaji Hassan Abba has called on the Bauchi state government to establish additional sporting facilities across the state in order to have more youths engaged meaningfully.
Alhaji Hassan Abba made the call during an exhibition match to mark the commencement of the second edition of annual Tennis competition, organized by Epitome Tennis foundation in Bauchi.
He observed that by providing adequate sporting facilities, thousands of teaming youths would be bailed out from negative tendencies occasioned by idleness.
According to him, establishing more Tennis courts and other sporting centers especially in schools will prevent youths from engaging in drug abuse and other social vices.
The 50 year old Abba who won the exhibition match 6-3, admonished the youth to take advantage of Tennis to fight idleness.
Our Corresspondent reports that Alhaji Abba has been playing Tennis for over 35 years and is still looking stronger and healthier.
On his part, the President Epitome Tennis foundation, Yahaya Yahuza Muhammad BBJ, commended the Bauchi state Government for sponsoring the tournament and supporting other sporting activities in the state.
He noted that Epitome Tennis foundation is working towards creating awareness on youths to improve their health and mental fitness in the society.
Speaking earlier on, Bauchi state commissioner of youths and sports development, Muhammad Salees Gamawa, pledged continued support to sporting activities across the state for the betterment of the youths.
Represented by the Director sports, Bauchi state sports council, Usman Yusuf Coach Ɗan Bala, the Commissioner declared the tournament opened and wishes the organisers a successful event.
The seven days Tennis competition is scheduled to wrap-up on the 9th of this month.
