Ex-Governor Sule Lamido wills own mansion to Jigawa state varsity

Former Governor of Jigawa state, Alhaji Sule Lamido has donated his largest mansion to the Sule Lamido University Kafin Hausa.
Lamido who governed Jigawa state from 2007-2015 made this known in a press a statement by his media aide, Malam Mansor Ahmed yesterday.
The former Jigawa state Governor directed that the mansion be converted to Institute for Islamic Studies and Research Center of the University after his demise.
The statement reads “The leader of the Talakawas Dr. Sule Lamido CON, has formally informed the Jigawa State Government that after his demise, his Bamaina mansion would be donated to Sule Lamido University Kafin Hausa as Institute for Islamic Studies and Research.”
Recalled that the University was established in 2013 by the Jigawa State Government under Sule Lamido’s tenure and licensed by the Federal Government through the National Universities Commission (NUC) as the 39th State-Owned University and 129th in the Nigerian University System.
The University, which took off with academic programmes in Science, Education and Humanities, is now a comprehensive citadel of learning with academic programmes in Six Faculties namely, Agriculture and Natural Resource Management, Computing & Information Technology, Education, Humanities, Natural and Applied Sciences and Social and Management Sciences.
