Flood: NEMA pays on the spot assessment visit to Misau LG

Following a complaint tabled on the floor of the Nigeria House of Representatives by member representing Misau/Dambam, Honourable Bappa Aliyu Misau, officials of the National Emergency Management Agency ( NEMA) have paid an on the spot assessment visit to the affected Communities with a view to assisting the victims.
Speaking in Misau local government area of Bauchi state, the leader of the delegation, Alhaji Kabiri Mohammed Gombo, said they were in the affected Communities to commiserate with the victims of the recent flood which destroyed properties worth millions of Naira, including some lives.
NEMA further explained that the aim of the visit was to also enable them assess the level of the damage done to the area with a view bringing succor to the victims.
Our correspondent gathered that, following the flood disaster, the Misau local government caretaker Committee Chairman, Honourable Salisu Husaini Dondo, Zannan Hardawa had been making untiring effort to ensure that the victims of the flood are assisted with palliatives to ameliorate their sufferings.
The house of representatives had after been convinced with Hon. Bappa Aliyu’s complaint, referred the matter to NEMA which directed its branch in Gombe state to intervene with immediate effect.
“To the glory of God, we have come and visited all the affected Communities, nooks and crannies of the local government for an on the spot assessment of the situation”, he said.
On his part, the local government caretaker Committee Chairman, Hardawa expressed gratitude to the NEMA delegation for allowing God to use them for the wellbeing of the downtrodden members of the society.
The local government chairman prayed Allah to bless whoever has assisted the victims of the flood in one way or the other.
