Governor Bala tasks traditional leaders on promotion of peaceful co-existence

Bala Mohammed, the Governor of Bauchi state has urged traditional leaders to continue to preach peace and unity within their domains for the socio-economic development of the society.
The Governor stated this on Tuesday when he paid homage at the palace of the District Head of Dogon Jeji in Jama’are local government area of Bauchi state.
He informed the monarch that he was in his palace to seek his fatherly advise and blessings in his ongoing re-election campaigns across the 20 local government areas of the state.
Governor Bala urged the traditional leaders in the state to be fathers to all regardless of their political differences.
“I urge you to be fathers to all regardless of whichever political party they belong. You should use your position to foster peace and harmony, particularly before, during and after the general elections”, the Governor said.
According to the governor, ordinarily, traditional rulers are not supposed to involve themselves in partisan politics.
He said as a result of the role the play in the lives of their subjects, the traditional leaders are not expected to discriminate against anyone on the grounds of political differences but embrace anyone that needs thier fatherly advise and support.
The Governor applauded the District head for emulating his late father who was the Chief Imam of the District 30 years ago.
Governor Bala Mohammed who described his relationship with the District Head as a special one, recalled that he was a good representative while in Abuja.
“He is a man of integrity, hardwork and dedication. So for this reason, the people of this district are lucky to have this man as their district head who is a replica of his late father”, the Governor said.
“We, the contestants, starting from Atiku Abubakar down to myself and other candidates of the party are seeking your fatherly blessings and prayers along with your traditional leaders in this district”, Bala stated.
The Governor said he was in the district to do consultations with stakeholders in order to know what is happening and what the citizens needs for government intervention.
Earlier in his remarks, the District Head of Dogon Jeji, Alhaji Ahmed Mohammed Jarma, recalled how the long standing relationship between his late father and the family of governor Bala Mohammed has blossomed for decades.
The District Head who commended the Governor for executing numerous developmental across the state, added that he was not surprised about the political successes of the Governor.
