Governor Inuwa Mourns as Emir of Akko Loses Mother; Leads Government Delegation to Funeral Prayer in Kumo
Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya CON, has led a delegation of Gombe state government to the funeral prayer ( Janazah) of the late mother of the Emir of Akko, Hajiya Aishatu Muhammad Atiku (Hajiya Adda), who died on Saturday at the aged of 88 after a protracted illness.
While delivering condolences on behalf of the Government and people of Gombe state to the Emir of Akko and other family members at the chamber of the Emir’s Palace shortly after the funeral prayer, Governor Inuwa Yahaya described the loss of the late matriarch as monumental.
“After decades of serving humanity, today, a giant tree shielding a larger community has fallen. In spite of the love we had for the deceased, we helplessly had to bury her away from us because that is what Islamic teachings provided. She played her motherly role as a parent while alive, and that has reflected in the way and manner you manage your subjects since you mount the throne as Emir which demonstrates the kind of upbringing she gave you and other children she had raised”, the Governor said, according to statement by his media aide Ismaila Uba Misilli.
“As she is laid to rest, may Allah forgive her shortcomings, accept her soul, and grant her entry into Jannatul-Firdaus. On behalf of myself, the government, and the people of Gombe State, I extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, especially His Royal Highness, the Emir of Akko, Alh. Umar Muhammad Atiku. May Allah grant you the strength to endure this profound loss”, the Governor prayed.
In his response, the Emir of Akko expressed appreciation to Governor Inuwa Yahaya and his entourage for identifying with them in their grieving moment.
He said Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s prompt response to this sad development in Akko Emirate proved his passion for humanity and community adaptation, praying for Allah to see him through the leadership hurdles.
“Today, our family and the entire members of Akko Emirate and Akko Community, are deeply grateful to His Excellency for identifying with us in this moment of grief. We are also grateful for the prayers you have offered to our deceased mother. May you be rewarded abundantly. And rest assured, we pledge our continued support and offer fervent prayers for your success in all your endeavours throughout your stewardship”, the Emir remarked.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya was accompanied to the funeral by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon. Mohammed Abubakar Luggerewo, the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, the Chief of Staff, Alh. Abubakar Inuwa Kari, Commissioners, PPS and other top government functionaries as well as APC Chieftains, Alhaji Jamilu isiyaka Gwamna, Hon. Ismaila Mu’azu Hassan and Alhaji Abubakar Shareef.
