Group enjoin politicians to halt unnecessary criticisms of Tinubu’s policies

By Samuel Luka

Nigerians, especially politicians have been enjoined to stop unnecessary criticisms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s led federal government.

Known as North-East Coalition of Tinubu/Kashim Support Groups, they posited that governance is such a collective responsibility that desires all hands on deck to move the country forward.

The Director General of the group, Hon. Yazid Inuwa MK Bauchi who made the call in a press statement in Bauchi on Wednesday, advised the opposition to stop blaming everything on the President.

“Governance is a collective responsibility with every actor having a role or two to play for success. Although it is now no longer news to say that the business of governance in Nigeria is not a one man business, suffice to say one can not clap with only one hand”, the group said.

Yazid Inuwa while pointing out that each Nigerian must play his or her role very well, condemned the criticism of President Tinubu by the Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed.

According to the group, the criticism was inimical and excessive on President Bola Tinubu and his policies.

“The Governor’s excesses while flagging off his Party’s electioneering campaign for the forthcoming, Saturday, 17th August Bauchi 2024 local government elections are tantamount to instigating the general public against Mr President,” It claimed.

The statement opined that such criticisms should not be coming from a leader, as the Governor often claims to be.

“We’ll not sit back and fold our arms watching the dragging of the hard-earned reputation of President Tinubu in the mud”, the group warned.

To the youths that are banking so much in this President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, the group observed that the Governor’s excesses are akin to the rhetoric killing the goose that lays the golden eggs.

They also reminded the Governor that the President is occupying an exalted office in the country which deserves respect and honour by every Nigerian.

“His unmistakable confidence and unreserved drive with which he speaks of the forthcoming Bauchi 2024 LG’s polls are not unconnected with his conviction in the President Tinubu’s recent unprecedented local government’s autonomy which used to be an herculean stride”, they said.

“There is no gainsaying that the Bauchi Governor knows better than every doubting Thomas that the problems of Bauchi state, and the country by extension, should not be wrongly transferred to Mr President and his well-intended policies, but rather, not far fetched from misplacement of priorities by elected officials.”

The group then called on each and every elected and appointed political office holder in the Six Northeastern States of Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe, irrespective of political, religious and ethnic affiliation to support the developmental efforts of NEDC.
