Hoodlums Assassinate Bauchi FedPoly Engineer

An Engineer with the Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi, Garba Abubakar Muhammad was in the early hours of Saturday gunned down by yet to be identified assassins.

Muhammad was killed at about 2:00am by the assassins who stormed Burshin Fulani settlement in Bauchi LGA, forced themselves into his residence and murdered him in cold blood.

Late Muhammad was working with the Directorate of Physical Planning of the Federal Polytechnic when he met his untimely death.

In a related development, a resident of the area was shot by gunmen, and is now receiving treatment at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Bauchi.

Bauchi State Command Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ahmad Wakil Saturday confirmed the incident to newsmen.

Wakil said, “Yes, I can confirm to you that unknown gunmen attacked Burshin Fulani and killed one man, Abubakar Garba Muhammad of the Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi.

According to him, the deceased was shot on the neck and die on the spot, “Our men who rushed to the scene evacuated him to the Teaching Hospital where the medical team on duty certified him dead”.

The police explained that its patrol team at the gate of the FedPoly were quickly mobilized and before they could reach the scene, assassins have fled.

They explained that the late Engineer Muhammad came out to rescue his son who was struggling with the gunmen and was immediately shot.

PPRO said, “The Commissioner of Police. Sylvester Abiodun Alabi has directed the police to go after the gunmen and bring them to justice”.
