House of assembly aspirant pledges to push for revival of Bauchi’s moribund industries if elected

A House of Assembly aspirant for Chiroma district in Bauchi state, Hon. Yakubu Yarima Babayo has pledged to push for the revamping of ailing industries in the state if elected in 2023.
Hon. Babayo who made this known in an exclusive interview with our Corresspondent on Wednesday, said his decision to venture into politics was due to severals calls on him by Organizations and individuals to contest for the post for over two years.
The aspirant who is contesting under the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform, noted that the major challenges bedeviling the country is unemployment.
He pledged to when elected, press on the state government to create employment opportunities for the teaming youths and women.
According to the aspirant, thousands of youths who are roaming the streets without job will be gainfully employed if Moribund industries are brought to life.
“If I am elected to represent Chiroma district in the Bauchi state assembly, I have several initiatives for the youth because they are the backbone of every society. I will ensure that their plights, including that of women are taken care of by the state government through making meaningful inputs in floor of the house on their behalf”, he said.
Hon. Babayo further explained that he will always voice out, such that the state government will create opportunities for the youth and women to be gainfully employed through skills acquisition, modern farming among others.
“If I am given the mandate I will make a case for our industries, we have many of them, and I can tell you that if we can revive them, our IGR will increase in such a way that we don’t even need to wait for subvention”, he said.
The house of assembly aspirant while calling on the youth to stand up and be productive, said the federal government has created so many opportunities for Nigerians to access funding for agricultural purposes.
Hon. Babayo appealed to the people of his constituency to diversify on the source of their livelihood in order to overcome the current economic situation in the country.
The aspirant who expressed confidence in the Governor Buni’s handling of the party affairs, said he is sure that the party will do justice to all during its primaries.
“We lost in Bauchi in 2019 due internal wrangling but I can assure you that with the current leadership structure every party member will get justice”, he said.
