INEC extends continues voters registration to 31st July

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the extension of the continues voters registration to July 31st, 2022.

The extension of the period for the registration was contained in a press statement signed by the Secretary of the Commission, Rose Oriaran-Anthony, dated 15th July, 2022.

The statement informed all the Resident Electoral Commissioners of INEC across the country that the decision to extend the registration period was arrived at on Friday 15th July, 2022.

“This is to inform all RECs that the Commission at its meeting of today,
Friday, 15 July 2022 has decided that the on-going Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) exercise will come to an end on 31st July 2022″, the press statement said.

It also directed that the period of registration be extended to 5.00pm daily including Saturdays and Sundays.

It added that arrangement were been made to provide additional resources to take care of the extension including the additional hours.

“States are directed to ensure that the exercise is carried out as directed”, the statement said.
