Insecurity: Bauchi Lawmaker wants Nigerians embrace tourism to foster national unity

In order to overcome the myriads of security challenges bedeviling Nigeria, a member representing Bogoro constituency in the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Honourable Musa Wakili Nakwada has urged the citizens to embrace tourism and culture among the diverse ethnic groups.
Hon Nakwada who is also the spokesperson of the assembly observed that what Nigeria needed most is unity among all the ethnic groups.
Nakwada who doubles as house committee chairman on environment and forestry stated this recently during the 2022 annual cultural celebration day organised by the Department of Tourism and Management of the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi.
The lawmaker disclosed that the State Legislature will soon commence the process of passing of the bill to support and upgrade Tourism activities in the State.
Nakwada further explained that the Bauchi state goverment will leverage on the Tourism attractions to create more jobs opportunity for the teaming youths in the state.
Earlier speaking, the Head of Department, Tourism and Management Technology, Murtala Muhammad said the aim of organizing the event was to help inculcate the importance of unity among Nigerians in the minds of the students through cultural heritage.
Also speaking, the General Manger of Bauchi State Tourism Development Agency, Nasiru Muhammad said the agency is working with all relevant stakeholders towards promoting cultural heritage and unity among diverse ethnic groups in the institutions.
Muhammad commended the department and the polytechnic for organising the event which he noted, was aimed at uniting people, especially students who are the leaders of tomorrow.
Some of the students of the department, Esther Sunday, Eni Emmanuel and Kure Deborah who expressed gratitude to the management for organizing the event, urged their colleagues to embrace tourism and culture to promote unity in the Polytechnic.
