Bauchi speaker attributes Governor Bala’s achievements to Executive/legislative cordial relationship

The Speaker of the Bauchi state house of assembly, Rt. Hon Abubakar Sulaiman has said that the unprecedented infrastructural and other developments recorded in the state under Governor Bala Mohammed is no doubt as a result of the good and cordial working relationship existing between the Executive and Legislature.

Speaker Abubakar who made this assertion while presenting 12 laws to the governor for assent, assured that the 9th Assembly under his leadership will continue to provide qualitative representation, legislations and people-oriented laws before the end of their tenure.

A press release signed by the speaker’s spokesperson, Comrade Abdul Burra explained that his principal made the assertion while speaking at the Government House, Bauchi on Friday.

Burra said that the speaker while presenting the laws to the Governor for assent, described the passage of the laws and subsequent assent by the Governor as historic one.

He said that the move has further demonstrated the existing cordial and mutual cooperation between the Executive and Legislature in Bauchi State which has become a shining example in the country and the world at large.

“You will agree with me that all the Laws are laws that if properly implemented will have direct bearing on the lives of the good people of the state as well as protect their lives and property”, the speaker said.

Rt. Hon Abubakar Sulaiman called on the good people of Bauchi State to continue to pray, support and cooperate with Governor Bala’s administration, adding that the Bauchi people are witnesses to the great achievements being recorded in the state.

On his part, Governor Bala Mohammed said as partners in progress, his administration will collaborate with the lawmakers in the state to ensure good governance through appropriate legislation in order to achieve the desired objectives.

He added that the enactment of laws by the legislature is a necessary constitutional requirement for the government agencies to operate accordingly.

The Governor observed that, government agencies need legal framework and backing to function effectively as legal entities.

The laws presented by the speaker and assented to by the Governor were; A Bill for a law to Establish Bauchi State Vigilante and Youth Empowerment Scheme and other related Purposes 2022; A Bill for a Law to Provide for the Establishment of Bauchi State and Local Governments Contributory Pension Scheme and other related matters 2022, A Bill for a Law to repeal the Bauchi State Urban Planning and Development Board 2012 and Enact the Bauchi State Physical Planning and Development control Board 2022, A Bill for a law to repeal the Bauchi State College of Agriculture Law 2013 and Enact a Law to Establish Division of Agricultural Colleges in Bauchi State University and for related matters 2022, A Bill for a Law to provide for the Establishment of Bauchi Infrastructure Development and Maintenance Agency 2022, A Bill for a Law to repeal the Bauchi State, Separation of Account (Judiciary) Law and A Bill for a Law to provide Bauchi State Tourism Development Corporation.

Others are; A Bill for a law to repeal Bauchi State University Establishment Law 2010 and enact a Law to establish Sa’adu Zungur University 2022, A Bill for a Law to Establish the Bauchi State Security Trust Fund and for other connected Purposes 2022, A Bill for a Law to establish Bauchi State Environmental Trust Fund 2022, A Bill for a Law to repeal Bauchi State Funds Management Law 2017 and enact a Law to provide for the Management of Funds accruing to Bauchi State House of Assembly from the consolidated Revenue Fund of the State and A Bill for a Law to establish the Bauchi Roads and Traffic Agency Law 2022.
