Katagum Emirate Council appoints former Bauchi deputy Governor as Wazirin Katagum

The Emir of Katagum in Bauchi state, Dr. Umar Faruq ll has appointed the former deputy Governor of the state, Audu Sule Katagum as the Wazirin (Senior Councillor) Katagum.

The appointment of Audu Sule Katagum was contained in a letter signed by the secretary of the emirate, Alhaji Sule A. Kabir.

Dated 6th November 2023, the letter said Sule Katagum was appointment based on his competence, pedigree and his contribution to the development of Katagum emirate.

According to the letter, the appointment followed approval of the Katagum Emirate Council as endorsed by the Local Government Service Commission in a letter with LGSCILGA/SIKDA/O01/VI as reference number.

According to the Katagum Emirate Council the letter of approval which was dated 6/11/2023, indicated that Governor Bala Mohammed of the state has granted the request for the appointment of Sule as Wazirin Katagum (Senior Councillor and chairman Katagum Kingmakers).

“I have been directed to convey the decision of Katagum emirate council of your appointment as the Wazirin Katagum”, the letter reads in parts.

The Emir prayed for God to guide the appointee in his mandate.
