Kindly honour Ex-Bauchi Gov Yuguda, Yobe Gov Buni, Sayyadi Dahiru tells President Tinubu

The coalition of Quranic disciples known as (Almajiri), comprising of memorisers and reciters from 36 states of Nigeria and Africa has advised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to as a matter of necessity, honour the Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, and former Governor of Bauchi State, Malam Isa Yuguda, for their love for the Quranic deciples.

Sheikh Sayyadi Dahiru Bauchi who gave the advice, urged President Tinubu to appoint former Bauchi Governor Isah Yuguda as Central Bank Governor or a Minister.

According to him, Yobe state Governor Mai Mala Buni should also be honoured by appointing his loyalist into any suitable position at the federal level that will serve the interest of common man.

The scholar who is the Director of Education under the auspicies of Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi Foundation, Sheikh Sayyadi Aliyu stated this while speaking to newsmen in Bauchi on Monday.

Sheikh Sayyadi Aliyu said he has personally went round the country and beyond, met with many Qur’anic memorisers and reciters in Nigeria and they recognised Yuguda as the best among both former and the present Governors that has high regard and respect for Almajiri pupils.

He said Yuguda and Buni were described by those he met as people of integrity.

He said, “We are supporting Yuguda, because he supported us, he carried us along, he honour the learners and teachers of the book of Allah, the Holy Qur’an”, he said.

The Islamic scholar explained that when People are showing stigmatisation to Almajiri, Yuguda embraced them, adding that, that informed their resolve to also embrace and support him.

“We are appealing to president Tinubu to do the right thing at a right time and appoint Yuguda as central bank Governor or a Minister for the success of his administration”, he appealed.

He said when Yuguda was serving as Bauchi Governor, he earmarked and released N55m monthly, including about 20 cars to take care of Almajiri and their teachers.

He added that, considering Yuguda’s political weight and popularity coupled with the significant role he played in the 2023 general election to ensure that Tinubu got the required percentage in the state and other states in the North-east sub-region, he is qualified to get the position.

He said that as a former Minister of Transportation and Aviation, and two-term governor, Yuguda has what it takes to be the representative of the people of Bauchi state in President Tinubu’s Government.

“The choice of Yuguda by Almajirai is due to the fact that he has transformed the lives of many citizens of Bauchi State when he was the state governor without discrimination”, Sheikh Sayyadi said.

He expressed the appreciation of Quranic reciters, learners and memorisers to Yobe State Governor ,Mai Mala Buni who asked all Almajiri Quranic pupils and their teachers to return to his State and went personally to the House of Sheikh Dahiru and commiserated with him.

Sayyadi advised President Tinubu to be wary of anti-people politicians and honour real democrats who supported the Almajiri education like former Bauchi State Governor Mallam Isa Yuguda and Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni.

. “We also wish to state that if the president wants to succeed he should honour the person that honour the book of Allah”, he said.

He berated former Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir Elrufa’i for his alleged hatred, bad treatment mated against Almajiri who are Qur”anic learners, reciters and memorisers throughout his tenure as a Governor.

He alleged that El-Rufai had while serving as Governor, went to the residence of Peaceful and respected renowned Islamic Scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi in Kaduna and evacuated hundreds of Qur’anic pupils, tear-gassed them around 2m in the night.

Sheikh Sayyadi who described the action of Elrufai as reckless and highly condemnable, said he failed in his duty to protect the lives and properties of the people of his state.

“Instead, he went and harassed innocent citizens, his action violated the fundamental Human rights of Sheikh and his disciples”, he said.

He assured that the Maulana Sheikh Dahiru  will come with so many ways to improve Quranic education in the country.
