Kolmani oil and gas project one of the important legacies of President Buhari, says Bauchi Governor

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state has stated that the actualization of Kolmani oil and gas project in Bauchi, Northeastern Nigeria is one of the numerous important legacies of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Governor made this known while speaking during the flag-off ceremony of the Kolmani Integrated Development Project performed by President Muhammadu Buhari in Alkaleri local government area of the state on Tuesday.
Governor Bala who noted that the project is going to assist Nigeria in generating more revenue, said it will equally create jobs, fight poverty, and promote sustainable and environmentally friendly development.
“Mr. President, our deep gratitude, and appreciation to your leadership cannot be overstated. This is very well in-line with your drive to bring economic activities in every nook and cranny of the country”, the governor said.
Governor Bala Mohammed said that the Kolmani Integrated Development Project has pledged to ameliorate the economic conditions of the host states and the country as a whole.
While commending the leadership of Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, the governor described the company as the bastions of Energy Security and harbingers of great tidings to the people of Bauchi State.
“NNPC is already walking the talk of your new motto of “Energy for Today, Energy for Tomorrow”, he said.
Bala Mohammed urged the NNPC to continue to lead the way for continuous exploration, discovery, and similar projects for the socio- economic development of Nigeria.
While performing the flag-off ceremony, President Muhammadu Buhari urged the NNPC to utilize and leverage on their verse assets across all corridors of its operation to de-risk the project to attract the much needed investment.
“I have directed the NNPC to continue along this lines. It is therefore, to the credit of this administration that at the time when there is near zero appetite for investment in fosil energy coupled with allocation challenges, we are able to attract investment of over $3 billion to this project”, the President said.
President Muhammadu Buhari said he has engaged both Bauchi and Gombe state Governors who have given him assurance of their unwavering Commitment’to the successful execution of the project.
“Both have given me assurances of their unwavering commitments and willingness to ensure support and cooperation that this activity affect the local populations”, Buhari added.
On his part, the Group Managing Director of NNPC, Mele Kyari thanked the President for his doggedness by ensuring the success of the programme, adding that the project is going to open up socio-economic development of the country.
Present during the flag-off ceremony were Governors of Plateau, Gombe, Yobe, Borno, Bauchi, among others as well as the Emirs of the region, Ministers, APC Presidential Candidate Bola Tinubu, NNDC/NNPC Officials, Captain of industries, Security agents and other development partners.
